ANNOUNCEMENTS

May 17th, 2026

Thank you to Daniel Lapointe who was filing in for David this week.

There will be Sunday School again next Sunday.

Prayer for Ascension Day, written by Roland DeVries.
Holy God, we celebrate Jesus who has ascended to the place of glory and honour, from which he also descended in love. We praise you that, having been faithful in service, he has been vindicated and given a place of honour at your right hand. We thank you that in his ascension he is also our Great High Priest, interceding with you for your people and for the world. Holy God, we honour the ascended Jesus, with praise and gratitude.

NOTRE APPORCHE VERS DIEU / OUR APPROACH TO GOD

BIENVENUE, PRIÈRE ET APPEL À LA CÉLÉBRATION  / GREETING, PRAYER AND CALL TO WORSHIP
(Se lever / Congregation rises as the Minister enters)
As I live every day, I want to be a channel for peace. May I bring love where there is hatred and healing where there is hurt; joy where there is sadness, and hope where there is fear. I pray that I may always try to understand and comfort other people, as well as seeking comfort and understanding from them. May I choose always to be a light in the darkness, a help in times of need, and a caring honest friend. And may justice, kindness, and peace flow from my heart forever. Amen.

Let us be joyful before God!
We will sing praises to God’s holy name.
Let us lift up a song to the One who rides upon the clouds,
who protects orphans and widows and gives the desolate a home.
Sing to God, all nations of the earth.
We will sing praises to the Lord, our God!

The Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.
And also with you.

Holy, holy, holy, Lord God almighty!
Early in the morning our song shall rise to Thee;
Holy, holy, holy, merciful and mighty,
God in Three Persons, blessed Trinity!  (Sung)

PRIÈRE DE CONFESSION / PRAYER OF CONFESSION
God of mercy, we confess that there are times when we forget you and are divided from one another. We confess that often our thoughts, words, and actions betray your goodness and our calling. Forgive us, merciful God. Mend what is broken, heal our wounded relationships, and convert our hearts and minds, through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

LE NOTRE PÈRE / THE LORD’S PRAYER
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil, for thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory. Forever and ever, Amen.

Clap your hands, all you peoples; shout to God with songs of joy. For the Lord, the Most High, is awesome.
The Lord subdued peoples under us and nations under our feet. The Lord chose our heritage for us, the pride of Jacob, whom God loves.
God has gone up with a shout, the Lord with the sound of trumpet.
Sing praises to God, sing praises; sing praises to our sovereign, sing praises.
For God is the ruler of all the earth.
Sing praises with a psalm.
God reigns over the nations; God sits on the holy throne.
The princes of the people gather, as the people of the God of Abraham.
All: For the shields of the earth belong to God; the Lord is highly exalted.

Upcoming hymns / Prochains chants

For those who have expressed interest in singing as a choir, we are including a list of upcoming hymns to give people the opportunity to learn their parts on their own ahead of time. Please sit on the side closest to the video camera, or see France at the beginning of the service for sitting assignment. It is important to note that people should not wear perfume while singing close to others.

How to proceed to study the music on your own:
For regular attendees who read music, you may take pictures of the hymns in the hymn book for you to practice at home for the next service. For those learning by ear, many common hymns are available on you tube where you can listen to them ahead of time. During services, the organist always plays the entire hymn once as an introduction, giving you a head start on how it goes.

Upcoming hymns / Prochains chants

May 24, Hymns
286, Creator God, creating still
385, Like the murmur of the dove’s song
389, Breathe on me, breath of God
