Easter Sunday
PRÉLUDE / ORGAN VOLUNTARY:
Prelude on “Easter Hymn” H. Willan (1880-1968)
Christ is risen!
He is risen indeed!
Christ is risen from the dead, trampling down death by death.
Hallelujah!
This is the Good News – the grave is empty & Christ is risen.
Hallelujah!
Let us worship God with Easter joy!
PROCESSION HYMN 243 JESUS CHRIST IS RISEN TODAY
NOTRE APPORCHE VERS DIEU / OUR APPROACH TO GOD
BIENVENUE, PRIÈRE ET APPEL À LA CÉLÉBRATION / GREETING, PRAYER AND CALL TO WORSHIP
(Se lever / Congregation rises as the Minister enters)
As I live every day, I want to be a channel for peace. May I bring love where there is hatred and healing where there is hurt; joy where there is sadness, and hope where there is fear. I pray that I may always try to understand and comfort other people, as well as seeking comfort and understanding from them. May I choose always to be a light in the darkness, a help in times of need, and a caring honest friend. And may justice, kindness, and peace flow from my heart forever. Amen.
This is the good news – the grave is empty; Christ is risen.
Christ is risen indeed!
This is the good news – the light shines in the darkness and
the darkness can never put it out.
Halleluiah!
This is the good news – Christ is our peace, the
indestructible peace which we now share with each other.
Halleluiah!
The Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.
And also with you.
Holy, holy, holy, Lord God almighty!
Early in the morning our song shall rise to Thee;
Holy, holy, holy, merciful and mighty,
God in Three Persons, blessed Trinity! (Sung)
PRIÈRE D’INVOCATION / PRAYER OF INVOCATION
PRIÈRE DE CONFESSION / PRAYER OF CONFESSION
Gracious God, our sins are too heavy to carry, too real to hide and too deep to undo. Forgive what our lips are afraid to name and what our hearts can no longer bear. Set us free from a past we cannot change, open us to a future in which we can be changed and give us the grace to grow more and more in your likeness and image. In Jesus’ name, we pray.
Amen
LE NOTRE PÈRE / THE LORD’S PRAYER
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil, for thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory. Forever and ever, Amen.

O give thanks to the Lord, for God is good. God’s steadfast love endures forever. Let Israel say,
“God’s steadfast love endures forever.”
The Lord is my strength and my might and has become my salvation. There are glad songs of victory in the tents of the righteous.
”The right hand of the Lord does valiantly; the right hand of the Lord is exalter; the right hand of the Lord does valiantly.”
I shall not die but I shall live and recount the deeds of the Lord.
The Lord has punished me severely but has not given me over to death.
Open to me the gates of righteousness that I m ay enter through them and give thanks to the Lord.
This is the gate of the Lord; the righteous shall enter through it.
I thank you that you have answered me and become my salvation.
The stone that the builders rejected has become the chief cornerstone.
This is the Lord’s doing;
it is marvelous in our eyes.
This is the day that the Lord has made.
Let us rejoice and be glad in it.

For those who have expressed interest in singing as a choir, we are including a list of upcoming hymns to give people the opportunity to learn their parts on their own ahead of time. Please sit on the right side or see France at the beginning of the service for sitting assignment. It is important to note that people should not wear perfume while singing close to others.
How to proceed to study the music on your own:
For regular attendees who read music, you may take pictures of the hymns in the hymn book for you to practice at home for the next service. For those learning by ear, many common hymns are available on you tube where you can listen to them ahead of time. During services, the organist always plays the entire hymn once as an introduction, giving you a head start on how it goes.
