NOTRE APPORCHE VERS DIEU / OUR APPROACH TO GOD
BIENVENUE, PRIÈRE ET APPEL À LA CÉLÉBRATION / GREETING, PRAYER AND CALL TO WORSHIP
(Se lever / Congregation rises as the Minister enters)
As I live every day, I want to be a channel for peace. May I bring love where there is hatred and healing where there is hurt; joy where there is sadness, and hope where there is fear. I pray that I may always try to understand and comfort other people, as well as seeking comfort and understanding from them. May I choose always to be a light in the darkness, a help in times of need, and a caring honest friend. And may justice, kindness, and peace flow from my heart forever. Amen.
Do you believe in God, the Father almighty?
I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.
Do you believe in Jesus Christ?
I believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again; he ascended into heaven, he is seated at the right hand of the Father, and he will come to judge the living and the dead.
Do you believe in the Holy Spirit?
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the one, holy, and apostolic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
We are called to serve in the name of Jesus, God’s beloved Son,
God calls us by name because we are beloved.
God calls us to be a light to the nations.
We wait for God’s teaching and to learn justice.
We are witnesses to God’s goodness and grace who claims and loves us.
God’s name be praised!
The Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.
And also with you.
Holy, holy, holy, Lord God almighty!
Early in the morning our song shall rise to Thee;
Holy, holy, holy, merciful and mighty,
God in Three Persons, blessed Trinity! (Sung)
PRIÈRE D’INVOCATION / PRAYER OF INVOCATION
CANTIQUE / HYMN: 183 CHRIST, WHEN FOR US YOU WERE BAPTIZED
PRIÈRE DE CONFESSION / PRAYER OF CONFESSION
Merciful God, in baptism you promise us forgiveness and new life. We confess that we often prefer our old ways.
We resist the new opportunities you set before us. We cling to harmful habits and nurse grudges, failing to forgive one another. Have mercy upon us, O God, and guide us to live with more grace and generosity through Christ our Lord.
LE NOTRE PÈRE / THE LORD’S PRAYER
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil, for thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory. Forever and ever, Amen.
GAGE DE PARDON / ASSURANCE OF PARDON

Thanks be to God. (Nous rendons grâce à Dieu.)
PSAUME / RESPONSIVE READING: Psalm 29
Ascribe to the Lord, O heavenly beings,
ascribe to the Lord glory and strength.
Ascribe to the Lord the glorious name;
worship the Lord in holy splendour.
The voice of the Lord is over the waters’
the God of glory thunders, the Lord, over mighty waters.
The voice of the Lord is powerful;
the voice of the Lord is full of majesty.
The voice of the Lord breaks the cedars;
the Lord breaks the cedars of Lebanon.
The Lord makes Lebanon to skip like a calf,
and Sirion like a young wild ox.
The voice of the Lord flashes forth flames of fire. The voice of the Lord shakes the wilderness, the Lord shakes the wilderness of Kadesh.
The voice of the Lord makes the oaks to whirl, and strips the forest bare; and in the temple of the Lord, all cry, “Glory!”
The Lord sits enthroned over the flood;
the Lord sits enthroned as sovereign forever.
O Lord, give strength to your people!
O Lord, bless your people with peace!
GLORIA PATRI (594)
Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Ghost. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen. Amen.

Si vous préférez prendre le bus, débarquez au carré d'Youville et marchez quelques coins de rue.
For those who have expressed interest in singing as a choir, we are including a list of upcoming hymns to give people the opportunity to learn their parts on their own ahead of time. Please see France at the beginning of the service for sitting assignment. It is important to note that people should not wear perfume while singing close to others.
How to proceed to study the music on your own:
For those who read music, you may take pictures of the hymns in the hymn book for you to practice at home for the next service. For those learning by ear, many common hymns are available on you tube where you can listen to them ahead of time. During services, the organist always plays the entire hymn once as an introduction, giving you a head start on how it goes.
