ANNOUNCEMENTS
Sept 6, 2026

The new Presbyterian Connection has arrived. If you do not receive this at home, please feel free to take a copy during fellowship.

Please keep Gina and Katherine in your prayers as they attend the Presbytery meeting next Saturday at Camp d’Action Biblique.

The following Saturday, September 19th, is the annual Fall Fest, which is held at Quebec High School. Volunteers are needed to help with this. If you can give some time, please let Katherine know your availability.

Next Sunday, our Sunday School will meet during worship. All of the children are invited to come together for these classes.

Congratulations to the Reverend Narcisse Feukan Todem who will be inducted this afternoon as the half-time minister with La Communauté Chrétienne Béthanie at 2401 Avenue de L’Abbé Giguère, starting at 1 pm. We pray God’s blessings on Pastor Narcisse and members of this congregation as they move forward together.

During fellowship today, you will find Matzoh to be shared. This is unleavened bread, and is probably very similar to what the Israelites ate on the night of the Passover

Upcoming hymns are listed at the bottom of this page.

September 6th, 2026
15th Sunday after Pentecost

PRÉLUDE / ORGAN VOLUNTARY:

NOTRE APPORCHE VERS DIEU / OUR APPROACH TO GOD

BIENVENUE, PRIÈRE ET APPEL À LA CÉLÉBRATION  / GREETING, PRAYER AND CALL TO WORSHIP
(Se lever / Congregation rises as the Minister enters)
As I live every day, I want to be a channel for peace. May I bring love where there is hatred and healing where there is hurt; joy where there is sadness, and hope where there is fear. I pray that I may always try to understand and comfort other people, as well as seeking comfort and understanding from them. May I choose always to be a light in the darkness, a help in times of need, and a caring honest friend. And may justice, kindness, and peace flow from my heart forever. Amen.

The Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.
And also with you.

Holy, holy, holy, Lord God almighty!
Early in the morning our song shall rise to Thee;
Holy, holy, holy, merciful and mighty,
God in Three Persons, blessed Trinity!  (Sung)

PRIÈRE D’INVOCATION / PRAYER OF INVOCATION

CANTIQUE / HYMN: 410 JOYFUL, JOYFUL WE ADORE YOU

PRIÈRE DE CONFESSION / PRAYER OF CONFESSION
God of majesty and mercy, although Christ offers us peace, we confess we are a people divided; we harbour fears and jealousy which set neighbour against neighbour, group against group and nation against nation. We pursue profit and pleasures which harm creation and the wellbeing of all people. Have mercy upon us, O God. Set us free from our old ways to serve you as agents of your reconciling love in Jesus Christ. Amen.

LE NOTRE PÈRE / THE LORD’S PRAYER
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil, for thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory. Forever and ever, Amen.

GAGE DE PARDON / ASSURANCE OF PARDON

PRIÈRE POUR L’ILLUMINATION / PRAYER FOR ILLUMINATION

LA PAROLE DE DIEU POUR NOUS / GOD’S WORD TO US

This is the word of the Lord. (La parole de Dieu.)
Thanks be to God. (Nous rendons grâce à Dieu.)

PSAUME / RESPONSIVE READING:  Psalm 149
Praise the Lord!
Sing to the Lord a new song, God’s praise in the assembly of the faithful.
Let Israel be glad in their maker, let the children of Zion rejoice in their ruler. Let them praise God’s name with dancing, making melody to the Lord with tambourine and lyre.
For the Lord takes pleasure in this people, and adorns the humble with victory.
Let the faithful exult in glory; let them sing for joy on their couches.
Let the high praises of God be in their throats and two-edged swords in their hands, to execute vengeance on the nations and punishment on the peoples, to bind their rulers with fetters and their nobles with chains of iron to execute on them the judgement decreed.
This is glory for all God’s faithful ones.
Praise the Lord!

GLORIA PATRI (594)
Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Ghost. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen. Amen.

Upcoming hymns / Prochains chants

For those who have expressed interest in singing as a choir, we are including a list of upcoming hymns to give people the opportunity to learn their parts on their own ahead of time. Please sit on the side closest to the video camera, or see France at the beginning of the service for sitting assignment. It is important to note that people should not wear perfume while singing close to others.

How to proceed to study the music on your own:
For regular attendees who read music, you may take pictures of the hymns in the hymn book for you to practice at home for the next service. For those learning by ear, many common hymns are available on you tube where you can listen to them ahead of time. During services, the organist always plays the entire hymn once as an introduction, giving you a head start on how it goes.
