NOTRE APPORCHE VERS DIEU / OUR APPROACH TO GOD
BIENVENUE, PRIÈRE ET APPEL À LA CÉLÉBRATION / GREETING, PRAYER AND CALL TO WORSHIP
(Se lever / Congregation rises as the Minister enters)
As I live every day, I want to be a channel for peace. May I bring love where there is hatred and healing where there is hurt; joy where there is sadness, and hope where there is fear. I pray that I may always try to understand and comfort other people, as well as seeking comfort and understanding from them. May I choose always to be a light in the darkness, a help in times of need, and a caring honest friend. And may justice, kindness, and peace flow from my heart forever. Amen.
Praise the Lord from the heavens and in the heights!
Praise For, sun and moon!
God’s name alone is exalted.
God is above the earth and heaven.
The Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.
And also with you.
Holy, holy, holy, Lord God almighty!
Early in the morning our song shall rise to Thee;
Holy, holy, holy, merciful and mighty,
God in Three Persons, blessed Trinity! (Sung)
PART ONE SHARING
PRIÈRE D’INVOCATION / PRAYER OF INVOCATION
CANTIQUE / HYMN: 143 INFANT HOLY, INFANT LOWLY
PRIÈRE DE CONFESSION / PRAYER OF CONFESSION
God of compassion, you promise new life, but we confess that we are in love with our old ways; with hurts that we nourish, hatreds that hold us hostage, and fantasies that restrict our faithful living. You offer to us unconditional love, but we reject our neighbours and live apart from you and one another in many ways. Recreate us in the image of your son, and for your glory’s sake, forgive us.
LE NOTRE PÈRE / THE LORD’S PRAYER
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil, for thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory. Forever and ever, Amen.
GAGE DE PARDON / ASSURANCE OF PARDON
PRIÈRE POUR L’ILLUMINATION / PRAYER FOR ILLUMINATION
Almighty God, in the beginning was the Word;
and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
On this day of discovery and light; we long to hear your holy Word.
Open our ears to the call of your voice.
Open our eyes to the dawning of a new day.
Fill us with anticipation for your future. Amen.

PSAUME / RESPONSIVE READING: Psalm 148
Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord from the heavens, praise the Lord in the heights!
Praise the Lord, all the angels; praise the Lord, all the host of heaven!
Praise the Lord, sun and moon, praise the Lord, all you shining stars! Praise the Lord, you highest heavens, and you waters above the heavens!
Let them praise the name of the Lord, who commanded and they were created, who established them forever and ever, and fixed their bounds, which cannot be passed.
Praise the Lord from the earth,
you sea monsters and all deeps, fire and hail, snow and frost, stormy wind fulfilling God’s command!
Mountains and all hills, fruit trees and all cedars!
Wild animals and all cattle, creeping things and flying birds!
Rulers of the earth and all peoples, leaders and all judges of the earth! Young men and women alike, old and young together!
Let them praise the name of the Lord, whose name alone is exalted, whose glory is above and earth and heaven.
The Lord has raised up a horn for the people, praise for all the faithful, for the people of the Israel who are close to their God.
Praise the Lord!

For those who have expressed interest in singing as a choir, we are including a list of upcoming hymns to give people the opportunity to learn their parts on their own ahead of time. Please see France at the beginning of the service for sitting assignment. It is important to note that people should not wear perfume while singing close to others.
How to proceed to study the music on your own:
For those who read music, you may take pictures of the hymns in the hymn book for you to practice at home for the next service. For those learning by ear, many common hymns are available on you tube where you can listen to them ahead of time. During services, the organist always plays the entire hymn once as an introduction, giving you a head start on how it goes.
